Transformers For Wind Turbine Generators

10-22 2024 | By:

There are two types of wind power transformers, 35kV and 10kV. It converts the 690V voltage of the wind turbine into 35kV and 10kV through a step-up transformer, and sends it to the system power grid or users, thereby completing the task of wind power generation. The intelligent wind power box-type substation installs and debugs the primary and secondary equipment on the 35kV or 10kV and 690V sides, such as circuit breakers, mutual inductors, transformers, remote control of switches, telemetry controllers, transformer protection and indicating instruments, and monitoring and protection equipment of wind turbines in the factory and installs them into a movable, sealed, moisture-proof, and rust-proof double-layer box. Thus, the “four-in-one” outdoor device of the integration of primary and secondary systems, modular assembly, factory construction process, and simplified construction in wind power construction is realized. The construction period is shortened, the project cost is reduced, and the reliability of power grid operation is improved.

Transformers For Wind Power Product Features

· A box-type central distribution station is set up in the wind power station.

· Several wind power box transformers are set up, and the capacity depends on the installed capacity of the wind turbine.

· The low voltage line of the wind power transformer is 690V, and the high voltage line is 35kV or 10kV.

· The wind power transformer is installed near the box-type central distribution station, and the monitoring and protection of the wind turbine is installed in the wind power transformer.

· The 35kV outgoing lines between the transformers are connected nearby and finally connected to the box-type central distribution station.

· Overcurrent, quick-break and transformer protection are installed on the 35kV circuit breaker of each wind power transformer.

· A 35kV/220V power transformer with a capacity of 5kVA is installed in the box-type central distribution station, and a UPS power supply is connected to the power supply.

· The UPS power supply is imported, pure online, industrial grade, and has a capacity of 3kVA.

· The operation and protection power of the 35kV circuit breakers of each wind power transformer are taken from the box-type central distribution station through cables.

Transformers in wind power generation are mainly used in the following aspects.

First, the main control transformer, whose function is to power the system.

Second, the small control transformer used in the local control circuit.

Finally, the transmission transformer used when the high voltage is connected to the grid.

Wind power transformer, as a key equipment in the wind power system, wind power combined transformer technology has also achieved rapid development.

In view of the characteristics of wind power generation systems, there are many different forms of transformer designs that are gradually emerging, among which the most representative are combined transformers and American transformers.

Finally, let’s talk about the role of wind power transformers.

The role of wind power transformers is to convert the 690V electric energy generated by the wind test transformer generator into 10kV or 35kV through boosting, and then transmit the electric energy to the wind farm booster station through buried cables or overhead lines.
